Our knowledgeable and experienced surgeons will counsel you on options for breast cancer treatment, as well as provide you with referrals to other appropriate team members. Your surgeon can provide:

  • Surgical biopsies to remove an area of abnormality for pathology analysis (Surgeons identify the tissue to be removed either by palpation, physical examination, or needle localization, an image-guided procedure for locating mass)
  • Lumpectomies to surgically remove a cancerous or pre-cancerous breast lump
  • Mastectomies to remove all breast tissue, the nipple, and possibly lymph nodes
  • Sentinel node biopsies to identify and test lymph nodes that receive the first drainage from a breast tumor
  • Implantation of vascular access devices which allow intravenous medications to be easily delivered and provide access for blood tests
  • Reconstructive surgery to rebuild a breast that has been surgically removed

Your breast health team also provides you with ancillary services, including:

  • Imaging (Mammography, ultrasonography, MRI)
  • High-risk screening
  • Image-guided biopsies
  • Physical therapy
  • Nutritional counseling
